BBC TV at the Archive.

The production team from the BBC Scotland TV series 'Landward' were filming at the Archive today for a piece on the whaling diary of James Taplin. The show will be broadcast in October.

Ellon 'Out of School Club' enjoy a trip to the studio.

25 youngsters from Ellon came to the studio today where they sang and made a recording. Everyone had a good time and they were all delighted with their day's work!

Enterprising young rockers in the studio this month.

A group of musicians from Banchory School are in the studio, recording tracks for their first CD. The CD will be on sale soon to raise funds for future school projects.

'Windward' Diary Attracts Television Interest.

BBC Television, Scotland, have contacted nefa with a view to including Taplin's diary as part of a feature on the Peterhead built ship, 'Windward.'

Maritime Diary Attracts Great Interest

The diary of Dr James Taplin's "Voyage to the Arctic Regions" aboard the Peterhead whaler "Windward" is now on line and is attracting interest from a number of maritime historians. We have also received mail from descendants of crew members as word spreads about this wonderful find.
